Tip #6: Weekend Getaways

Sometimes, students will feel under pressured and/or stressed from anything they may be dealing with in their life, whether it has to do with anything happening in their personal lives or school. Weekend getaways are a great option for a student to consider if they want to get a way for a few days to clear their head or just to have a distraction and have a fun time!

Since these trips are usually for weekends, local cities that are around 5-6 hours away from wherever your school is (specifically in Washington, D.C.) will probably be your best option! An example would be New York City. NYC is only a 5 hour drive away from D.C. There are some hotels around the city that only charge less than $80 a night. There are also various tourists spots to visit. Spots like Central Park, Times Square, Chinatown, Little Italy, Museums, and more!

A very underrated place to visit is Williamsburg, VA! Williamsburg is a very rural, colonial setting for most college students, however, there are so many activities to do! You can go to Busch Gardens and ride on exhilarating roller coasters or learn about the American Revolution at the American Revolution Museum in Yorktown. There are also some hotels that cost as little as $49 a night!

Although these cities can be a bit pricey, they offer many deals towards many of their visitors. You can also find deals in many travel websites, such as Expedia!

I will provide some links below for any information you may want to look for if interested!
